北京舞蹈學院訪美演出團在美國西海岸巡迴演出途中，因冰雪路滑慘遭嚴重車禍，二人遇難（其中一人十七，一人十八歲），二十幾人負傷，三人重傷(可能面臨殘疾）。舞蹈團的演員皆為中國舞蹈界最傑出的新秀，年齡多在十六至二十二歲。在西雅圖等地演出數場，表演精彩非凡，反響熱烈轟動，為中華文化為全球華人大爭臉面。慘禍發生後，由於保險覆蓋非常有限，傷亡團員及其家人陷入了極爲困難的境地。尤其是，失去獨生子女的父母親們痛不欲生。鑒于此不幸橫禍，亞特蘭大中國商會呼籲有愛心的同胞和朋友們向這些深受傷害的孩子和他們的家人伸出援手。無論是十元二十元，還是一百二百元，都將會給他們送去一片愛心，一份溫暖。亞特蘭大華人獅子會已捐助五百元，令人敬佩。捐款請寄：CBAA, 4920 Roswell Rd. SHOW YOUR LOVE AND THAT YOU CARE Chinese version click here (http://cbaaonline.org/2001/beijingdance.jpg) Many of you may have heard about the tragic accident that occurred during a performance tour of the Beijing Dancing Academy on the West Coast. The catastrophe, which killed 2 of the performers (one 17 years old, the other 18), was caused by icy road conditions on tour. More than twenty of the performers were injured, with 3 in serious condition and could be paralyzed for life. Between age 16 and 22 years old, most members of the delegation were prominent young artists well known in China. Their phenomenal performances in Seattle caused a major sensation, which brought pride to the Chinese community and greatly contributed to the promotion of the Chinese culture. Devastation from the accident has put victims and their relatives in extremely difficult financial circumstances with very limited insurance coverage. CBAA encourages all its members and anyone with a caring heart to offer their help by giving a monetary donation. Whether it is ten dollars or a hundred, they are representations of our loving heart. The Atlanta Lion's Club has recently forwarded donation of $500 to the victims and their families.
