Is China the Next Biotech Superpower?

Even though the economy right now is quite sour, China is about to spend billions of dollars on new biotech research, which will boost their economy and help them rise in superpower status.

Right now China has a lot of money sitting around. With the U.S. in such dramatic debt levels right now, China has been saving money and not spending money like the U.S. has been in the last decade. That being the case China now has money to invest in many areas while the U.S. feeling pressures cannot do the same. This is going to give China a massive boost, and we will see them flourish in the next 12 to 24 months.

The Chinese government recently decided to take some of its massive national reserves of cash and launch a spending spree in the biotech in medical industries as the U.S. economy is failing and while prices remain low. These areas include, biopharmacy, bioengineering, bioagriculture and also bio manufacturing. Doing this will bring many benefits to the Chinese people. These actions are also expected to generate and create one million jobs for people out of work. You will also reduce the infancy mortality rate to under 10 per cent.

These actions mimic what happened back in the U.S. Over a 20 years ago when debt levels were zero, and the country was in surplus. Fast forward to today, and things have changed drastically.

No one, including China, is even close to truly challenging the U.S. And its biotechnology, however you must realise that this industry is going to be capped in the coming years due to its debt levels and failing economy. The U.S. realises, but the Chinese understand this problem and are utilising what they have in the hands right now and are taking the niche of the situation.

The question on the lips of everyone right now is can America keep on track. As the global biotechnology superpower they have the world at the feet right now. But they realise that China is close on the heels, and giving them a head start to becoming the next superpower like U.S. China have a massive advantage. And with massive technological breakthroughs in the coming years and this will work in China’s favour and not the U.S.

Right now China is like a sleeping dragon, everyone know it’s there yet they do not really truly understand or appreciate how powerful they really are. Not only do they have the infrastructure and technical support but they have the financial backing right now at a time when the economy is on a knives edge.
